Château La Vieille Cure 2008 : 14,75

Le vin est discret au nez cette année, bien qu'il se présente avec un caractère mûr. Ce goût mûr fait son charme en bouche, toutefois la corpulence est plus moyenne que d'habitude. JN Hervé, son vinificateur, préfère à cet instant précis de l'élevage avancer en douceur plutôt qu'en force. A suivre dans quelques mois.

Over the last decade, one of the finest Fronsacs to emerge in nearly every vintage has been La Vieille Cure. The deep ruby/purple-tinged 2008 offers sweet notes of black currants, crushed rocks, and flowers in its ripe, pure personality. With sweet tannin as well as medium to full-bodied power and length, it comes close in quality to the estate’s outstanding 2005. Consume it during its first 12-15 yaers of life.

Château La Vieille Cure 2008 : (80-82)
A simple, smoky nose that lacks some fruit concentration. The palate displays cherry and raspberry leaf, quite spicy and meaty with nice Cabernet Franc on the finish. But it is very austere and hard going. Tasted March 2009.
